Nitrous Oxide
This is one of the most common types of sedation, safe for children, teens and adults. Nitrous oxide is administered through a mask that is placed over the nose during your visit. You will begin to feel relaxed and at ease within minutes of the mask being placed. Your dentist can control the level of sedation throughout your visit and sedation can be administered until your visit is complete. Once the mask is removed, the effects of sedation will begin to wear away immediately, allowing you to resume your normal activities. Nitrous oxide sedation can be used during a routine check-up or treatment to help you feel comfortable the entire time.
Oral Sedation
Prior to the start of your visit, one of our team members will administer a pill for oral sedation. Once you have taken the pill, the sedation should begin to take effect quickly. By the time you are in the dental chair, you should feel relaxed, not bothered by surrounding sounds or smells. Your dentist will be able to perform whatever treatment necessary while you are comfortably sitting in the dental chair. Oral sedation helps prevent anxiety and stress during a dental visit and can help your dentist accomplish a lot in just one visit.
