We know getting to the dentist isn’t always easy, but what if you could see the dentist without leaving your living room? With the invention of teledentistry, that possibility is now a reality and we’re pleased to have added teledentistry to the list of dental services we provide in our dental office.
What is Teledentistry?
Teledentistry is the process of using technology to provide dental care when the dentist and the patient aren’t in the same place. All teledentistry requires is an internet connection and access to a video camera – your computer, laptop, tablet or phone will usually suffice.
What Kind of Dental Care can be Provided Using Teledentistry?
While we can’t clean your teeth or do a filling using teledentistry, there still are a number of dental services that can be done virtually:
- Emergency consultations – through the use of photos, videos, and a conversation, Dr. Brody can review your concern and determine whether a visit to the office is required.
- Invisalign® consultations – have you been dreaming about a straighter smile? A teledental visit with Dr. Brody can help determine if you’re a candidate for Invisalign.
- Progress consultations – for patients who are already in treatment, a virtual visit can often be substituted for a trip to the dental practice, saving you time.
